LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
We are committed to listening and learning. As settlers, we have much to learn about Indigenous history, culture and issues of today. As a commitment to this learning, leaders of the Wellness Collective Network have participated in the San’yas: Indigenous Cultural Safety Training: Ontario’s Core ICS Mental Health training. We acknowledge that this is one step in a life-long journey of listening, learning and taking action.
As settlers, we are grateful for the opportunity to meet here and we thank all the generations of people who have taken care of this land - for thousands of years. We acknowledge the land we are meeting on is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit.
