ABOUT

Thanks for stopping by along your journey. 

I’m a counsellor and psychotherapist in training currently in a supervised practicum from September 2023 to April 2024 with the MACP. My experiences as a counsellor with a social service background provide me with the framework and values to practice with an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed approach to empowering clients. In this helping role, I am responsible for creating a non-judgmental, unbiased and safer space for clients to feel heard and for their lived experiences and identities validated.

I encourage and foster an environment for growth, vulnerability and trust. I do so by facilitating a person-centred integrated approach informed by values of narrative and interpersonal therapy and internal family systems. I offer a therapeutic relationship where you’re able to be supported, challenged and empowered to navigate the goals that are priorities for you.

Identifying as a polyqueer neurodivergent cis white man. I’m also a settler committed to unlearning and relearning the history of the colonized lands in which I was born and reside. This includes active efforts to self-reflect and practice awareness of my societal privileges.

I also seek to address oppressive practices/policies within my control while encouraging others to contribute to ending generational/systemic harm and cultural genocide of Indigenous peoples.

As an individual, I’m passionate about participatory research, mental health education and calling out heteronormativity. An avid learner, I have completed formal education in social service work, and community development pathways and as mentioned in the process of completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology in April 2024. I’m someone who enjoys spending time in nature (loves a coffee walk in the park), with loved ones (including two cats) and enjoying interests and activities such as political/social dramas, yoga and various cuisines.
